Alikiba is a Tanzanian footballer, singer, and composer. He is the proprietor of the Kings Music label and hails from Mtwara. Ali Kiba released Cinderella, which became the best-selling album in East African nations such as Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.
Mwana, Aje, Chekecha Cheketua, Cinderella, Nakshi Mrembo, Usiniseme, Dushelele, Single Boy with Lady Jaydee, Mapenzi Yana Run Dunia, and Macmuga are among his most popular songs. He also worked on the One8 project with R. Kelly and other African performers. He took over as director of Rockstar4000 in 2017.
Following his three-year hiatus, he released the songs “Mwana” and “Chekecha.” He received six wins at the 2015 Tanzania Music Awards and broke the record for the most downloaded song of 2015 on Mkito.com.
He was later endorsed by Airtel Africa alongside the Billboard Most Influential Global R&B Artist of the Last 25 Years, American recording artist R. Kelly, and seven other African megastar artists Fally Ipupa (DRC/France), 2Face Idibia (Nigeria), Amani (Kenya), Movaizhaleine (Gabon), 4X4 (Ghana), Navio (Uganda), JK (Zambia).
Alikiba was nominated for “Best International Act” at the Black Entertainment Film, Fashion, Television, and Arts Awards in 2009, “Best East African Artist” at the African Music Awards in 2009, “Best Zouk / Rhumba Song” at the Kili Music Awards in 2012, and “Best Collaborating Song with Lady Jaydee” at the Kili Music Awards in 2013.
He got a deal with Sony Music Entertainment on May 20, 2016. He later quit Sony in 2021 after five years of service. Alikiba was also offered a spot on the Tanzania National Soccer Team, and Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete personally visited with him to praise him on his skill and essential contribution to Tanzanian Music, Arts, and Culture.
